The 5am Club

I refused to pick up this book initially because I already know how it ends - wake up at 5am. I mean why do I need to read a book about it right? I know I can do more if I can wake up earlier. The problem is actually waking up earlier. This book gave some reasons to wake up early but the most useful one is the actual actions to be done after waking up early. The author calls this the 20-20-20 rule.

  1. Exercise for 20 minutes
  2. Meditate and reflect for 20 minutes
  3. Learn and grow for 20 minutes

There are some notable quotes which I logged in my journal. Here are some of them. Enjoy.

Take action, because:

The smallest of implementation is always greater than the grandest of intention.

On the real cost of not growing:

The soreness of growth is so much less expensive than the devastating cost of regret.

All these growth is to achieve GCA - Gargantuan Competitive Advantage

Stop managing your time and start managing your focus.

Give your full commitment because:

Part time commitment gives part time results.

New terminology on continuous improvement:

Day stacking - Improve just 1% every day

How to identify a real change:

If it isn’t hard in the beginning, it isn’t real change.
