Don’t chase artificial targets

I learnt this the hard way.

Don’t start out thinking that you need to run at a set speed or achieve a predetermined cadence. Many experts set these artificial targets, but this approach just moves the emphasis away from good technique and interferes with the natural process. ~ Older yet faster

I chased heart rates. I chased pace. I chased time. I chased distance. I chased VO2 max. You name it, I’ve chased it, only to realize I’ve been chasing the wrong target. Just focus on good form, the rest will come. It’s just like what the wisdom from 3 idiots say:

Follow excellence, and success will chase you, pants down!
