Learning to use the Grab app

It wasn’t too long ago that I got on the Grab bandwagon and now, I wonder what I’d do without it. Learning how to use this app was not difficult but it took some conviction to say I’m going to try it out”.

The first thing to do is to download the app. Then, I had to put my credit card details in so that I can fund” the app. My first real life test was to buy a cup of coffee. I scanned a QR code provided by the coffee place, typed the amount to be paid, and swipe to confirm. I show the coffee place owner the screenshot that I’ve paid and that’s it. Wireless payment from my part.

Next I up the ante and tried to pay for a medical checkup. It worked. I got reward points” for it which I still haven’t used to redeem anything.

Then I tried it overseas in another shop that accepts it. Worked like a charm. And then I used it most getting from A to B where I don’t speak the language. It was a godsend. Not only do I use it to get someone to drive me around, I also use it to know the real price” so that I can haggle with the local drivers when I couldn’t get any grab drivers.

I don’t know what took me so long to learn this. I’m so glad that I did now and this reminds me of a saying
