Learning loves company

As much as I like to learn and figure things out on my own, having company to figure out things with is many times better. And who better to learn a new language than with my 5 year old son.

At that age, they are a natural in languages. They don’t have the burden of other languages (yet) and he’s flicking through the language app like it’s a game. I’ve seen kids playing with games on a phone but if the game helps him learn a new language, I’d be very impressed. And it’s still only 5 minutes per pop. Sometimes I’d let him do 10. But he’s gaining on me. The healthy competition makes me want to keep up with him. I don’t know how long his interest is going to last, but I’d savor it and nurture it as long as it does.
