Learning Korean day 78

I’ve been learning Korean for the past 2 months. Initially, it was really fun, swiping here and there on an app. And then I see my retention being super good and before I know it, I have a few hundred words under my belt. Then I began to realize I am starting to forget those words. Despite spending more time learning more words, I am actually retaining less words. I wish I can see my actual progress but that’s not the point. I’ve got to change my strategy. So here’s what I did:

  • I went back to note taking by hand,
  • I write down the words I actually learnt
  • I try to recognize things in the real world and pronounce those words
  • I try to read any Korean I can find in the real world and pronounce those words

These strategies actually improved my learning, and since I’m heading to Thailand soon, I figured what the heck, why not add that to the list. :)

Up next 1:59 half marathon One of my goals in the year 2019 was to train for a 1:59 half marathon, in keeping with Eliud Kipchoge’s own 1:59 marathon target. I’m no elite Bouncing up and down My first experiment into a new way of running (after failing my 1:59 target this year) is to bounce up and down. I’ve tried this in various formats
